Sunny is a south American Sun Conure. They are found in a relatively small region of Northern Brazil, Southern Guyana, Suriname & French Guiana. They have become increasingly rare due to loss of habitat and collection for the pet trade. They are listed as endangered by the IUCN. They are sociable birds occurring in flocks of 20 to 30 individuals outside of breeding. They call loudly to communicate with each other, so they are not separated from the flock. Sun Conures are frequently bred in captivity and form strong bonds with their owners if kept individually.
Sunny came to us as a re-home. Her owner was reluctantly forced into having to part with her but wanted to know that she would be well looked after. We stepped in and offered her a permanent home and she now lives happily in her own aviary at Allcare.
By adopting Sunny you are supporting the work we are doing in animal rescue and rehabilitation with 100% of funds going into our sanctuary to help other animals in need of a home. To adopt Sunny simply call, Facebook message or email us and we will do the rest.
